Moreover, the number of fixation, fixation frequency, duration of fixation and total regression numbers of onecolumn text are also better. The fixation frequency, duration of fixation, saccadic distance and multipleline regression of threecolumn texts are all inferior to one and twocolumn texts. As a whole, onecolumn is better than twocolumn while twocolumn is better than threecolumn texts. The reading speed, the number of fixation, fixation frequency, duration of fixation and the number of regression of simple texts are revealed to be better than those of difficult texts. In this study, no significant interaction is found on difficulty and column to reading prehension index, nevertheless, such interaction 分欄設(shè)計對閱讀影響的眼動研究 III is significant to eye movement index like duration of fixation, the number of fixation and regression. 3 The reading efficiency, saccadic distance and multipleline regression numbers of onecolumn texts are significantly better than those of twocolumn. Moreover, the indexes such as reading performance, reading speed, the numbers of fixation, total regression and withinline regression of onecolumn texts are better than those of twocolumn. 4 Fast reading does not influence students’ reading prehension of themes but detail. Significant differences occur among such indexes as reading speed, reading efficiency, the number of fixation, fixation frequency, duration of fixation, saccadic distance between fast reading groups and normal reading groups. No significant differences appeared between twocolumn texts and onecolumn texts on reading prehension index, but on such indexes as total regression and withinline regression. The number of fixation, fixation frequency, duration of fixation of twocolumn texts are better than onecolumn texts. Fast reading groups do more frequently adopt the skipping pattern. The interaction of reading speed and column to reading prehension and eye movement index is not significant.
