If youths could read this novel, they could strengthen their understanding of life and keep high vigilance of the wicked reality themselves. While other people criticized it severely. They considered that the protagonist often spoke the obscene words such as“my ass”“horse manure”,didn39。 meanwhile some libraries treated this novel as a banned book. However with time going by, its place in the American literature is gradually stable and it was paid more attention by the critic circle.
