The Contractor shall submit all modifications and revisions in writing to the Company allowing sufficient time for review, ment and approval where appropriate. In the event of unforeseen circumstances in fabrication or quality control requiring specialized investigation and rectification, the Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that further work on the affected part of the fabrication shall cease until the matter is resolved to the satisfaction of the Company. Performance of the Work SPECIFICATION FORSTRUCTURAL FABRICATIONPAGE 6 Of 16 CNOOC ENGINEERING LD272/322SPCGENST0003 The Contractor shall supply all materials (unless specifically directed otherwise in the CONTRACT), labor, tools, equipment and services and perform all tests specified or necessary to ensure the requirements of this Specification and to ensure proper functioning of ponents. The Contractor shall be in charge of the work, at all times, a thoroughly petent superintendent and a fully qualified welding engineer who is experienced in the category of steel work construction. The Contractor shall designate a petent representative familiar with all phases of fabrication and administration with whom the Company may municate at all times. The Contractor shall employ only qualified craftsmen to perform all aspects of the WORK including testing. Any craftsmen considered unsuitable by the Company shall be removal from the work without delay and shall not be reemployed on the WORK. The Company shall be advised at least two days before mencement of any work by the Contractor and his Vendors. Errors and Omissions The Contractor shall be responsible for all errors and omissions in detailing, layout, fabrication, load out and seafastening of the structure and appurtenances and shall bear the cost of all corrections resulting there from where different from the Contract Drawings. It is the Contractor39。s methods of material receiving control, shop fabrication material control and field fabrication material control. The material control system shall require that all cutoffs have the appropriate plate number and heat and cast number transferred with low stress round nosed die stamps, together with identification of the direction of rolling. All surplus the Company supply material cutoffs shall be logged and segregated from the main batches for disposal or use, as instructed by the Company. For such types of material(H shapes which flange and depth is less than 300mm, the tubular less than φ406 and plate which thickness less than 16mm) shall not be required Traceability. Material that cannot be identified shall be rejected. Material Storage and Handling The Contractor shall submit detailed proposals for storage, handling, and protection of materials to be used in fabrication for the Company review and approval. The Contractor shall be responsible at all times for the proper protection of all materials from the effects of weather and mechanical damage. Material whose condition is unacceptable to the Company shall be replaced at the Contractor39。s approval. No welding is permitted onto installed equipment or ancillaries. Fabrication SequencesThe Contractor shall develop fabrication sequence procedures which shall specify the assembly requirements and welding sequence to minimize distortion and shrinkage in such a manner that the tolerances specified may be achieved without the necessity for reworking. An overall fabrication plan shall be submitted for review by the Company prior to mencement of fabrication. In the event of excessive distortion any reworking shall be subject to the prior approval of the Company.
