transverse plane. Splices of webs and flanges in builtup girders shall be located in multiple transverse planes. Structural Tubular SplicesIn the case of tubule with an internal diameter of 1000 mm and greater the minimum distance between circumferential weld seams shall be 1000 mm or one tubular internal diameters, whichever is the less, with a maximum of two circumferential weld seams in any 3000 mm length of tubular. The circumferential weld seam spacing on tubule of less than 1000 mm internal diameter shall be a minimum of one tubular diameter with no more than two circumferential welds in any 2500 mm length of tubular. Proximity of Welded SeamsWhere the intersection and overlap of welds by Tbutt or fillet welds is unavoidable, the intersected weld shall be ground flush for a distance of 50 mm on either side of the abutting plate. The region shall be subjected to magic particle inspection prior to permanent fitup. In order to avoid to bracing members falling on a longitudinal weld of a can, the longitudinal welds for joint cans may be staggered a minimum of 305mm to avoid the interference unless agreed by the Company. Otherwise longitudinal Welds of adjacent tubule shall be offset by a minimum angle of 90? . CutOuts, Manholes and Cope HolesThe detail sizes and locations of all cutouts and manholes shall be shown on the Shop Drawings. All temporary and permanent cutouts (not less than 100 mm radius) and manholes (not greater than 600 x 450 mm) shall be shaped with smooth edges without nicks or burrs and shall be subjected to magic particle examination.Cope holes proposed in relative documents shall be determined according to the AWS and shall be used subject to Company approval in order to produce an acceptable weld. Lifting AttachmentsAll lifting attachments shall be fitted and welded in accordance with the requirements of this Specification using the Company approved and qualified welding procedures and subjected to full ultrasonic examination or magic particle examination or peration examination in accordance with specification for structural SPECIFICATION FORSTRUCTURAL FABRICATIONPAGE 12 Of 16 CNOOC ENGINEERING LD272/322SPCGENST0003weld and inspection.Where additional padeyes are required for lifts during site assembly and or construction proposals shall be submitted to the Company for review. Site AssemblyThe Contractor shall submit procedures for each heavy lift and multiple lift (. where 2 or more cranes are involved) that may be required for site assembly, to the Company for prior review. A heavy lift shall be defined as 100 metric tons or greater. The procedure shall be submitted minimum 10 days in advance of the lift. The Contractor shall submit lift calculations for all padeye attachments and frames necessary for such site assembly lifts to the Company for review. The point stresses in main structures at padeye attachment welds and overall stresses imposed within the assembly shall be considered. All safety factors for slings used for lifts shall conform to the applicable Health and Safety Guidelines.Where jacking is required, the Contractor shall submit a procedure for the entire system prior to application to the Company for review. This shall include but not be limited to the equipment, jacking arrangement, procedures, movement estimates and all other pertinent details. Bolted Connections Holes shall not be drilled in structural members at locations other than those indicated on the Construction drawings, unless specifically approved by the Company. When not specifically indicated on the Construction Drawings, holes for bolted connections shall have a diameter + mm larger than the bolt size. Holes shall not be made or enlarged by burning out by drilling, or subdrilling and reaming only. Where close tolerance bolts are required, the hole shall be made to within + mm and 0 of the specified bolt diameter. Bolt heads and nuts shall be drawn tight against the work by a method acceptable to the Company. Bolt heads shall be tapped with a hammer while the nut is being tightened. After having been finally tightened, the nuts shall be locked. All high strength bolt shall be pretensioned to the proper proof stress or shall have the torque level specified. All such bolting details shall be subject to prior review by the Company. Where surfaces joined by bolting have a slope greater than 1:20 with respect to the plane normal to the bolt axis, suitable tapered washers shall be provided. All bolts, with the exception of friction grip bolts, shall be provided with either a lock nut, a locking washer, or an alternative locking device. All bolt locking SPECIFICATION FORSTRUCTURAL FABRICATIONPAGE 13 Of 16 CNOOC ENGINEERING LD272/322SPCGENST0003devices shall be subject to prior review by the Company. Bolts transmitting shear shall be threaded to such a length that not more than one threaded will be within the grip of the structural members. Bolts shall be of a length that will extend entirely through the nut, but not more than 6 mm beyond. Where friction grip bolting is specified it shall be the load indicating washer type and shall be pretensioned to the correct proof load in accordance with GB/T 12312022. All other bolting shall be in accordance with GB/T57802022, GB/T57812022, GB/T 561996, GB/T 952022 unless otherwise specified on the Construction Drawings. In the event of a nut of a friction grip bolt being loosened after application of proof load, the plete bolt shall be removed and discarded. Galvanized Steel Galvanized members shall whenever practicable be mounted by means of bolted connections. If cutting or w
