【正文】 A Telephone Call (B) “ Look!” Sid said. He stopped the car and pointed(指 ) at some deer(鹿 ). Mr. Miller looked at where Sid pointed. He saw the deer standing very quietly. That day they saw another lion. She lay on the grass. ―I know this old girl well,‖ Sid said. ―I even have a name for her, Linda.‖ The car stopped only a little away from the lion. Linda lay still. Mr. Miller saw two little lions sleeping beside her. “ She is not afraid,‖ said Mr. Miller. ―Why does she let us drive so near?‖ ―Linda sees cars every day,‖ said Sid. ―But she will not let us walk near her children.‖ ―Is every lion around here a mother or a child?‖ asked Mr. Miller. ―I want pictures of a very large lion.‖ Just then the driver stopped the car and asked Mr. Miller, ―Do you see what I see?‖ Mr. Miller was surprised at what he saw. Six big lions were eating a deer! He took a picture of them. All at once there was a loud roar(吼聲 ). A very large lion came along. “ That must be the king!” said Mr. Miller. “ He holds his head so high!” And it was! The six lions jumped up and ran away. They knew that the king(國王 ) always eats first. Mr. Miller did not get out of the car. But he took many pictures of the big lion. “ I do not want the king’s skin(皮 ).” He said. （ ） 6.
