I know it’ s not much of a hobby but I don’ t have a lot of time for hobbies. W: What are your favorite films? M: I like thrillers. That’ s my favorite. W: Oh, I’ m no good with those. They’re too frightening. I don’ t watch any of them because I have my hands over my eyes. M: So what are your favorite hobbies, Rebecca? W: I want to take up skiing. I’ m starting new hobbies because I haven’t got any at the moment apart from reading and music. (Text 8) M: Mum, it’ s hot out there. I’ m going to take a shower. W: Another one? Haven’ t you already taken two today? M: Well, I’ m sweaty! Why can’ t you smell me from over there? W: You really shouldn’ t take more than one shower a day though. You’ re wasting water. M: But water is not that expensive. W: Water is an important resource! And we don’ t have endless supply of it. M: But if I don’ t shower, I’ ll smell up the whole house! W: Well, at least keep it short. If you cut your shower time by two minutes, you can save about 600 litres a month. M: That much? When did you bee such a water expert? W: Since my friend Michael told me about the water shortages that are happening all over the world. M: But we’ ve always had lots of water in the city. W: We have water now, but more people on the pla means less water to go around. Think about that as you shower. (Text 9) M: Hello, Clark’ s Cycle Hire. How can I help you? W: Oh hello. I saw your ad in the local paper, and I’ m wondering what kinds of bike you have, and what your prices are like. M: Well, we hire out three main types of machine: electric, touring and mountain bikes. Are you likely to be riding offroad, do you think? (Text 10) W: Today on What’ s On Around Town, I’ m talking to Chris Jackson, one of the anizers at our local Eversham Tennis Club, who is here to try to persuade you to bee members. Chris, are you only interested in talented players or can anyone join? M: Playing petitive tennis isn’ t all we do, although we have had some great successes and our level of teaching is very high. The club is also somewhere people can e to have fun. If you want to play for fun, it’ s best to e on a club night. W: What are club nights? M: They’ re evenings for adult players that include playing tennis matches in a relaxed atmosphere. The club nights are held every Wednesday and Friday from 6 . throughout the summer months. In winter the courts are covered so that play can continue, but there’ s an extra fee to cover the cost of the extra lighting. It is not very much though. On Friday nights food and drinks are available at the end of play. W: That’ s for adults, and what about younger players? M: We have excellent teaching programmes run by Jack Stevens and his team that cover all ages and include both individual and group lessons.
