Design of ecological plants munity.Waterfront plants landscape of Jianghang GrandCanal is of continuity in spatial structure. Theecological and landscaping functions of greenlandscape have been achieved through plants.So, the design of waterfront plants munityshould aim to optimize ecoenvironment andimprove environmental quality. In accordancewith landscape ecological theory, it needs toimitate natural ecological population structure,primarily plant native species, take account ofthe diversity of plant munity, and selectproper trees. In the perspective of the generallandscape of waterfront green belt, it shouldpursue the change in the unity, and creatediversified and coordinated plant landscapesconsistent in style[3]. (1) Selection of landscaping plants’ species.Urban waterfront green land is a public openspace in which natural ecosystem is integratedwith artificial construction system, with richlandscape information. Plant landscape shouldtake account of the ornamental effect of theland and also the landscape effect of the water.Green tree species at the riverside should beable to resist to wetnes, and also correspondwith beauti?cation requirement. It should select native tree species, andapply arbors, shrubs, herbs, ground cover plants,climbing plants and ?owers in accordance withecological botany. In order to make plantslandscape along the bank of the canal forma unified and continuous integrity, it shouldconsider selecting Populus , Cinnamomumcamphora , Osmanthus fragrans , Metasequoiaglyptostroboides , Salix babylonica , Forsythiasuspense and Ginkgo biloba as the fundamentalkey based on original plants and different stylesof tree species in different regions. By biningwith local environmental features, it needs toimitate the natural formation process of watersystem and create an ecoenvironment suitablefor the growth of waterfront plants. At the sametime, it needs to regard the inherent ecologicalmunity, conduct the restoration and breakthrough original formulized pattern, so thaturban waterfront green land will be full ofnatural interest, finally improving ecology andinterestingness of urban waterfront green land. Design of road transport network. Roadtransport network is the morphological skeletonof urban waterfront landscape and the linkbetween water and land. Tomake people better feel the capaciousnessof the water and contact with the water,waterfront footpaths should be lowed down.If two or more waterfront footpaths are to beset, they should be designed in different formsto manifest different landscapes. Waterfrontfootpaths can divide the green belt into differentpatches, on which some pergolas, feature walls,lamp posts and sculptures should be designed toenrich waterfront landscape. At the same time,it should add some proper plants arrangementsalong waterfront footpaths to create naturalecological landscape[3]. (2) Vehicle road system. An open waterfront area should have convenient transportaccessibility and perfect transport network.It should increase public transport routesaccessible to the waterfront area at the westbank of Jinghang Grand Canal, perfect publictransport system of the waterfront area andappropriately set motorized vehicle lane andnonmotorized vehicle lane when the waterfrontgreen land is wide enough.
