【正文】 from the WTO Entry WTO TAIWAN CHINA ? 20 Impact from Entering WTO ?The long over due Taiwan’s entry into WTO brings limited direct impact upon the economy because of its already quite opened economy. Yet, the indirect influence from mainland China’s entry will be enormous. ? If WTO means Watching Taiwan Open, it will be more so for mainland China. ?Taiwan’s agricultural and few industrial sectors will be affected by surging imports from China , however, the services sector will gain from more foreign participation. 21 WTO, China’s Challenge, Change and Chance ? The WTO entry for mainland China means continued economic reforms, and a more open and internationally patible system to build. ? China is a giant goose which has already taken off, and were eager to join the flock of neatly flying East Asian geese. Everyone in the flock has to make room for the new ers.
