【文章內(nèi)容簡介】 g of a study of Dutch men in which deaths from heart disease were more than 50 percent lower among those who consumed at least an ounce of saltwater fish per day pared to those who never ate fish. The Dutch research is one of three human studies that give strong scientific support to the long held belief that eating fish can provide health benefits, particularly to the heart. Heart disease is the numberone killer in the United States, with more than 550,000 deaths occurring from heart attacks each year. But previous research has shown that the level of heart disease is lower in cultures that consume more fish than Americans do. There are fewer heart disease deaths, for example, among the Eskimos of Greenland, who consume about 14 ounces of fish a day, and among the Japanese, whose daily fish consumption averages more than 3 ounces. For 20 years, the Dutch study followed 852 middleaged men, 20 percent of whom ate no fish. At the start of the study, average fish consumption was about twothirds of an ounce each day, with more men eating lean fish than fatty fish. During the next two decades, 78 of the men died from heart disease. The fewest deaths were among the group who regularly ate fish, even at levels far lower than those of the Japanese or Eskimos. This relationship was true regardless of other factors such as age, high blood pressure, or blood cholesterol(膽固醇 )levels. 28. In which section of a newspaper can we read this passage? A. Ads. B. A. a heart doctor B. a science researcher C. a supporter of healthy eating D. a university student D Parties and social gatherings no longer excite us the same way they once did. This is not due to a lack of desire to socialize, but the smartphone. At parties, more people are on their smartphones than on their drinks. According to a recent International Data Corporation study, well over half of all Americans have a smartphone and reach for it the moment they wake up, keeping it in hand all day. In addition, too much of society is using smartphones while driving and as a result getting into car crashes. 34 percent of teens admit to text while driving, and they confirm that text messaging is their numberone driving interruption. People’s attachment to their smart phones is unbelievably being more important than the lives of themselves and others. Just as drivers dismiss the importance of focusing while on the road, many people also fail to recognize the significance of human interaction. When with their friends, some people pointlessly check or send text messages in the presence of a friend, which sends a message to that friend: the person I am texting is more important than you. In addition, relying on our smartphone to make friends does not give us the same advantage as being able to make new friendships in the real world. Facetoface conversations will give us much stronger munication skills in the long run. As many people risk their lives and the lives of people around them just to send a text or mindlessly check their massages, smartphones are in many ways more dangerous to people. The quality of this technology is de—advancing societal achievements and weakening the value of munication. Not only is the smartphone affecting our desire to interact(交流 )facetoface, but it is also lowering society’s ability to municate. 32. The purpose of this text is to__________. A. call for an end to use the smartphone while driving B. appeal to us to pay attention to munication skills C. express concern about the overuse of the smartphone
