leeve should be provided through the stuffing box. The sleeve should be replaceable without disturbing the gearbox by using a rigid spacer coupling in the headgear. A test assembly and disassembly of all shaft sections in Vendor’s factory is required. Impellers should be secured to the shaft by a key and split collar device for all pump sizes. Impeller outlet blade tips should not be back filed or modified from the natural shape after machine trimming to reduce or finish. Machined impeller edges should be deburred and filed smooth. Direction of shaft rotation should be clearly marked on the pump discharge head. The pump discharge head should have lifting lugs for the lift of the plete pump, headgear, gearbox(變速箱 ) and column. A discharge head pressure indicator and prepacked stuffing box should be provided. Gland packing may be John Crane style 1625G or equal with minimum of 3 rings followed by a Nickel Aluminum Bronze (ASTMB148 alloy 958) lantern ring and minimum 2 rings of packing. Five sets of spare packing, a shaft sleeve and a lantern ring should be provided with the pump. A small connection to discharge line should be provided on the stuffing box for an external flush, which will be provided with seawater from discharge line, when pump is stationary or running. MaterialsThe pump body and all pump accessories exposed to seawater should be constructed of materials resistant to corrosion by seawater. The material for a vertical turbine pump is remended as follows:a. Coupling Guard : Brass DriversThe fire pumps can be driven by electrical motors, electrohydraulic motors, electric motors fed by a dedicated diesel generator, or diesel engines. The diesel engines should be capable of being readily started in its cold condition down to a temperature of 00C. Consideration should be given to the provision and maintenance of heating arrangements, so that ready starting will be assured. Diesel EngineThe engine should be a medium speed design and a type selected for reliable starting and immediate acceptance of full load without warm up. Naturally aspirated engine types are required unless otherwise agreed to by COMPANY. Listed engines should be used wherever possible.10 / 32In special cases where the engine is outside the power range and/or type of Listed Engines, the additional power requirements of NFPA20 Para should be applied. Engines should be derated for site elevation and temperature. The VENDOR should advise the site rated power for:a) 4 hours continuous load (NFPA 20)b) 8 hours continuous loadTwo independent engine starting systems by starting batteries, independent hydraulic system, or independent starting air system should be provided in accordance with NFPA20, plete with all accessories as follows: Primary starting normally should be electric type with electric starting batteries, battery charger and starter motor. Lead Acid batteries should be provided. The batteries should be installed in specially designed battery boxes. The secondary starting should be hydraulic starting system or starting air system as a backup to the electrical one. The hydraulic starting system should include: hydraulic starter, certified accumulator, means to maintain automatically the hydraulic pressure such as a topup pump driven by an electric motor, manual hydraulic backup pump, piping and instruments. The starting air system should include: air motor, pressed air reservoir and piping and instruments. The starting systems should be designed in accordance with NFPA20 having a capacity sufficient for at least six starts within a 3 minus period. The attempt to start cycle should be fixed and should consist of 6 crank periods of an approximately 15second duration separated by 5 rest periods of an approximately 15second duration Two sets of batteries should be provided per driver and rated as per NFPA 20. Each set should be designed for 6 starting attempts. Changeover from one set of batteries to the other should be automatically initiated within the controller in the event of low voltage detection on the primary batteries and also by a local switch for operator intervention. Two sets of battery chargers per driver should be provided. Changeover to the secondary starting system should also be automatically activated within the controller after six unsuccessful start attempts from the primary starting system. This system should also have a local manual switch for selection as the primary start system. The engine should be supplied with a dry, spark arrestor type(火星捕集), bustion air filter installed on the engine, a full flow lube oil filter, crankcase breather and a fuel filter. The engine oil pump shoul
