有規(guī)范,韻式也不受原詩制約,因而很多譯者還是主張以押韻來實現(xiàn)詩歌的音韻美。鑒于這一點,在詩詞的英譯中也絕不可忽視對音韻的處理。意義美的再現(xiàn)這就是翻譯補(bǔ)償法中的“功能替代法[5](P75)”。 A cluster of mountains cool is tinged with heartbreak blue[4](P78). 意象美的再現(xiàn)而從文藝美學(xué)和詩美藝術(shù)的角度來看,詩詞翻譯就是原文審美特質(zhì)和藝術(shù)魅力的再現(xiàn)。 The production of Chinese classic poetry is a kind of art, which contains the beauty of artistic conception, temperament and form. When the Chinese classic poetry is translated into English, the beauty of the poetry is not only to be reserved, but also to be embodied. In terms of the English translation of Chinese classic poetry, the reappearance of the “three beauties” is especially a difficult work, and there are, however, still a lot of valuable English versions of Chinese classic poetry. This paper displays some excellent English versions of Chinese classic poetry by famous translators, and expounds how the “three beauties” are embodied in English translation through deep analysis. And this paper also contains a revised English translation of the classic poem “Mu Lan Ci” to further reappear the beauty.翻譯難,譯文學(xué)作品尤難,譯詩更是難上加難。 English translation。而在中國古典詩詞的英譯方面,林語堂先生在《論翻譯》一文中,除了提出翻譯的忠實標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和通順標(biāo)準(zhǔn)外,還著重強(qiáng)調(diào)了美的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。二、“三美”在英譯中的體現(xiàn)中國古典詩詞,以含蓄微妙見長,十分講求形象思維。如此兩行譯文一出,原詞中行人之遠(yuǎn)與思婦佇望之深,盡在言中。 Waters of Bian flow, 恨到歸時方始休, 路澀無人行, 冒寒往相覓。這方面最有力的例子莫過于寥世美《好事近》的結(jié)尾兩句:“(短棹弄長笛)驚起一雙飛去,聽波聲拍拍”(Surprised,a pair of birds fly away flapping/As I listen to the waves my canoe lapping[16](P11))這里押韻的flapping和lapping,一個形容飛鳥振翅,一個形容河水輕拍船頭,兩個都是擬聲詞,把當(dāng)時的景色描繪得淋漓盡致,使讀者幾乎聽到了鳥飛和輕浪拍打小舟的聲音。我國古典詩詞常用疊字來摹聲、狀物、抒情,疊字在增強(qiáng)詩詞樂感上的作用不可忽視。 許淵沖譯: 這三行一連用了七對疊字,寫出主人公一整天的愁苦心情,從“I look for what I miss”開始“尋尋覓覓”,可見她從一起床就開始百無聊賴,若有所失,于是東張西望,希望找到點什么來寄托自己的空虛寂寞。 So dim, so dark, 譯文: 欲說還休, 欲說還休, 卻道天涼好個秋。本例是一首宋詞,分上下兩闕,上下闕形式和長短完全一致,且兩闕的一、四行都是七字,第二、三行都是四字疊句,長短結(jié)合,錯落有致,讀來瑯瑯上口。 The endless river roll its waves hour after hour[22](P94).整篇譯文完整地保留了原詩的形式美,整體或細(xì)節(jié)上皆見細(xì)膩,又一次完美地體現(xiàn)了原詩的音韻美和形式美??匆韵乱皇住赌咎m辭》及其譯文: 木蘭當(dāng)戶織。 at [8] 同[7]:P53。[16] 同[9].P11。
