You can level a 5story building easily with giant modern machines, but when you need to bring down a 20story skyscraper, explosive demolition is the preferred method for safely demolishing the huge structure. In order to demolish a building safely, workers must map out a careful plan ahead of time. By controlling the way it falls down, they will be able to pull the building down on one side, into a parking lot or other open area.
