【正文】 is the main topic of this passage? A. The life span of animals living on the ancient supercontinent. B. The two islands being home to several iguana species in the Pacific region. C. The fossil evidence suggesting iguanas’ ancestors’ swimming to Fiji and Tonga D. By raft or by land — how did iguanas reach the tiny Pacific islands? D Ever since its creation over 40 years ago, the Inter has remained an almost unrestricted(無限制的 ) place. It is a place where anyone can present themselves in any form they choose. Because of anonymity(匿名 ) on the web it is possible for people—some of whom might normally be restricted from municating with the outside world—to speak out without fearing the result of their actions. Those actions could put them in danger if carried out in their real names. Being anonymous on the web also makes it possible for people to discuss sensitive subjects, such as medical conditions and physical abuse, without these actions affecting their everyday lives in a harmful way. There are many positive ways to use anonymity on the web, but there can sometimes be very bad side effects too, such as bullying(欺侮 ), racism, imitating someone in order to cheat others. When this kind of damaging activity is carried out online, how can the offender(冒犯者 ) ever be held responsible for their actions when they are anonymous on the web? How can we find them? Thankfully, things are starting to change. The rise of social works like Facebook, Google and Linkedin, which rely on people’s true identity, makes it increasingly difficult to live an anonymous life on the Inter. We are already beginning to see positive side effects due to these new levels of transparency(透明 ). Bullying, offensive ments and other forms of abuse are being less widespread now that people are no longer able to hide behind a mask. [來源 :學科網(wǎng) ZXXK] However, the Inter is a place where everything can be found easily. A mistake made during a person’s teenage years could permanently tarnish their online records for the rest of their lives, no matter how much time has passed. We’ve all heard stories of employers examining jobs applicants via Google and Facebook. Would it be unfair of them to judge you by your past mistakes, shown by a social work that remembers everything you’ve ever done? I think so. Now that our actions on the web are more public, we need to make sure we manage our personal information well. 32. Paragraph 1 is mainly about _______. A. how to use the Inter B. the history of the Inter C. why people like being anonymous on the web D. the positive effects of anonymity on the Inter 33. One of the bad side effects of anonymity on the web is that ______. A. it will lead to irresponsibility in real life B. offenders will get away with their actions C. it will result in bad relationships among people D. surfing the Inter will bee a painful experience 34. The underlined word “tarnish” in paragraph 4 probably means “_______”. A. keep B. open C. remove D. damage 35. Which section of a newspaper is the passage most probably taken from? A. Business B.
