And differences in backgrounds between western culture and Chinese culture lead to the variation of its meanings as well as its significance. Idiom is the most important part of language. There are many dog idioms in both Chinese and western culture, and each culture has its unique understanding and attitude towards these idioms. Through analyzing and paring dog idioms in Chinese and western culture, and considering dog39。s status in the history and nowadays , the thesis is aimed to analyze the culture diversity , and make the conclusion that in Chinese culture, the significance of dogs overweights its character of being an animal while in west culture dogs have more human natur
