Blast furnace is the oldest metallurgical process in mercial has gone through great improvements during the last decades and new important modifications are still huge amount of coal and coke needed for reduction of iron ore is resulting in emissions of carbon dioxide that have to be strongly reduced to meet the requirement of minimizing the carbon residuals from ironand steelmaking also need to be taken care of to meet the requirement of zero waste.
