That’s what his mother told him. And Forrest likes thinking. We can see the pictures about his families, Bubba’s family and Lt. Dan’s family. Maybe it looks funnily, but we can also see his vivid thoughts. In Forrest Gump’s life he follows his mother’s line and does a great deal of m iraculous things. Today lots of youngsters often plain that life is so unfair to them, but in fact the reason is they do not try to do or find what they want. We can learn from there is that we should never give up, do more than plain, keep on delving into life and then good things will eventually happen. Forrest Gump is a lower IQ person and has some muscle problem, but his mother tell him he is not different from anyone else. Because of his muscle problem Forrest must wear a particular knighthead on his legs, it looks strange in fact, but his mother tells him he is the same with others. And she also tells him that they are magic shoes, they can take him to anywhere. One day when Forrest Gump and his mother walked a step, Forrest’s leg was clipped in an exit of a cloaca. This picture was seen by other people. At that moment his mother asked those two people if they have not ever saw a child wearing a leg knighthead. It is an ordinary thing for her that a boy is wearing a particular knighthead. That is the reason why his mother wants to send him study in a normal school no matter how much she will pay for this. A lot of people must know the sentence “Go your own way。 let others talk” in The Divine Comedy which is wrote by Dante Alighieri. But who can promise he or she can follow like this line. It is easier to say than to do. Can you insist your opinion and do not care how other people say you are wrong (Of course under the precondition your opinion is right.). Forrest Gump’s mother gives him a lot of living motto. Another is “Stupid is as stupid dose.” When other person asking Forrest “Are you stupid or what’s worry with your leg?” He often replied “Stupid is as stupid dose.” Of course Forrest Gump is not smart, even himself have said that “I’m not a smart man.” And also after Jenny telling him that the child is his baby, he worries about one thing whether his boy is smart or not. His mother must know that Forrest Gump must be asked this question, so she give him a reply, Forrest believe that he is not smart. Forrest Gump gains his selfconfidence with his mother’s word. And Stupid is as stupid does. I think maybe we should be “stupid” sometimes in our real life now because being “stupid person” cares less about advantages and disadvantages, thus may release the pressure in our society full of fierce petition. And being stupid sometimes makes us far away from the plicated relationship between people and can give us a chance to think about our life, to give some thoughts to our future. Life is a gift and we should not waste it. You never know what you have to deal with next. So, we should study how to face our life as it es to us. Sometimes Forrest is a little smart. Because his mother tells him not to get on any stranger’s bus. So the first time he gets on school bus, there is a big problem. Little Forrest introduces himself on his own initiative. And then he knows the driver, so he solves the “big problem”. At last Forrest’s mother has gotten cancer. At the last time, the mother gives her baby her last word, “It39。s my time. It39。s just my time. Oh, now, don39。t you be afraid, sweetheart. Death is just a part of life, something we39。re all destined to do. I didn39。t know it. But I was destined to be your momma. I did the best I could.” And those words giv e Forrest courage to face the death of Jenny. Forrest deals with everything under his mother’s fundamentals. We can see it is the reason of his good moral characters honest, keeping his words, conscientious, brave and paying attention to emotion. III. The Character of Forrest Gump A. The Attitude towards Love As I said Forrest only believes in three things – God, his Momma, and Jenny. So Jenny is also another most important woman in his life. And it is also the heart of the story. Jenny is one of his best friends in the life of Forrest. In the 30 years, Forrest has bee a football star, a hero of Vietnam War, a member of PingPang diplomacy, a Millionaire or a popular fetish. Forrest’s status has changed a lot.
