(實義動詞 ) He dare not do it.(情態(tài)動詞 ) 他不敢那么做。 ? 注意: need作實義動詞時,還可表示“需要”,后接 doing/to be done,表被動(需要被 ... ...)。 The tree needs watering (to be watered). 這棵樹需要被澆水了。 它的過去時用 was / were able to,相當于 managed to do sth. 或 succeeded in doing sth.。 can / could 只能表示 現(xiàn)在 或 過去 的能力, 表示 主觀能力 , 不表示意愿 。 I am so strong that I can lift this stone. 我是如此強壯以至于能舉起這塊石頭。 can表示驚訝,懷疑,不相信的語氣 Can the news be true? 這消息會是真的嗎? can表示征求意見,請求, could語氣更加委婉。 He can be a hard man sometimes. 他有時挺難相處的。 開車時我們再小心也不為過。 (3)can’t help (to) do 不能幫忙做 can’t help doing 情不自禁做 (4)can’t/couldn’t agree more 十分贊成 (5)it can’t/couldn’t be better 十分好 , 非常好 Grammar2.
