ting is an effective way of deposing anic solid wastes to more stable and profitable materials ? However, traditional posting method wholly relies on its initial microbial munity, problems such as relatively long retention time, odor emissions and poor post quality may e out. ? To improve the above pitfalls, various specialized seed inoculums have been applied. ? Sometimes, high concentration of indigenous microanisms can inhibit the prevalence of inoculated ones ? Thus, an inoculation method that can effectively control the indigenous cell concentration is highly desired. ? The inoculated microbial populations and munity positions would keep evolving incessantly, leading to variations among different posting stages ? To well understand inoculation posting process, it is necessary to divide the posting processes into multiple stages ? However, most of the existing systems seldom considered the various stages of inoculation posting processes. This leads to difficulties in determining the efficiency of inoculation. OBJECTIVE ? The objective of this study is to develop a new inoculation method to enhance the efficiency of posting process, by controlling the indigenous cell concentration and making the remaining solids more amenable to biological attack. ? In addition, this research also aims at the development of a more optimum method for estimating the inoculation efficiency. MATERIALS AND METHODS ? Municipal soild waste (MSW) from a typical munity in Beijing were collected, sorted and mixed directly with sawdust without drying. ? The anics content was around 60%. ? The moisture contents of the initial waste mixtures of all tests were adjusted to around 55% by introducing water or bulking agent to the mixture. ? The carbon to nitrogen ratio was around 24:1.
