As a plement to national diplomatic strategy, we will continue to provide emergency humanitarian aid in response to natural disasters and armed conflicts occurred in derdeveloping countries. Just after the Haiti Earthquake, we contributed USD 1 million to Haitian Red Cross and USD 800,000 in response to Federation appeal. And we are planning to provide 1000 tents to the Haitian people for the next step. ? In response to the devestating earthquake in Chile, we have offered USD 100,000 cash contribution and publicized our bank account details to raise public donations. The Chinese people share the feelings of the Haitian and Chilean people, and sympathize with their huge sufferings. Main tasks for International Cooperation and Exchanges Main tasks for International Cooperation and Exchanges ? We will actively seek financial supports from the Government to expand the scale and intensify the effort to provide humanitarian aid to underdeveloped countries. Since last year, we have acquired resources from the government to offer disaster relief assistance to over a dozen National Societies including those in Albania, Mongolia, Ethiopia, India, Cape Verde, etc. ? We will provide material and equipments necessary for the development to 34 national societies of developing countries through a NonEmergency International assistance supported by Ministry of Commerce. Right now we have reached agreement with Mongolian and DPRK Red Cross on provision of needed equipment, and will provide similar assistance to African National Societies such as that of Cote D’ivoire and Sudan. ? We will anize 23 international training courses for mid/high level managerial personnel of national societies from developing countries.
