i am a third year master major in automation at shanghai jiao tong university, p. r. china. with tremendous interest in industrial engineering, i am writing to apply for acceptance into your . graduate program.
education background
in 1995, i entered the nanjing university of science amp。 dispose project for nanjing sewage treatment plant. this was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a mercial product.
in retrospect, i find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the . program. my future research interests include: network scheduling problem, heuristic algorithm research (especially in ga and neural network), supply chain network research, hybrid system performance analysis with petri nets and data mining.

Since this is often the opening question in an interview, be extra careful that you don’t run off at the mouth. Keep your answer to a minute or two at most. Cover four to//./picpetencies and recent career experience. Emphasize this last subject. Remember that this is likely to be a warmup question. Don’t waste your best points on it.

A good answer es from having done your homework so that you can speak in terms of the pany’s needs. You might say that your research has shown that the pany is doing things you would like to be involved with, and that it’s doing them in ways that greatly interest you. If the pany places a great deal of emphasis on research and development, emphasize the fact that you want to create new things and that you know this is a place in which such activity is encouraged.
