The light rain fell on the earth and rolled up bursts of light smoke. The earth seemed to bloom sweet dimples of laughter. Every family in the village is jubilant and lively. A string of firecrackers were lit in people’s hands, crackling and splashing everywhere, which shocked the child to cover his ears playfully. My father and mother and I put on beautiful new clothes and went happily to pay New Year’s greetings to the whole village with the joy of the festival.
