【正文】 United We StandThis is a most unlucky year for us Chinese. First, the snowstorm, then the earthquake, and now the torrential rain. But we still stand. And we are determined to make a success of the ing Olympics, for the whole nation is united as one before all these difficulties, however overwhelming they be. With solidarity, we can conquer whatever hardships we encounter. The Chinese people have undergone worse situations and we always manage to survive and thrive. When one part of the population is in trouble, all quarters will rush to their help. With the donations, voluntary work and psychological fort offered by folks from all over the country, those unfortunate people can always weather those hard times. This time, I am convinced, will be no exception.What Can I Do for the OlympicsThe Olympics is just around the corner. It’s a historic event the Chinese people have been dreaming of for years. We mon citizens have every obligation to help the government to make a huge success of the Games.Everyone is making contribution in his way. As for me, I am of the opinion that the following has to be done. First, if necessary, we should tolerate some inconveniences and even make some sacrifices. For example, the torch relay route covers most provincial capitals of the country. To ensure the success of the relay, some special measures have to be taken, like traffic control, which may bring about inconveniences to some of us. At such times, understanding on the part of those affected will be precious. Second, as host of the Olympic Games, we will witness the arrival of foreigners in great numbers. The way we behave will impress them as the way of the nation. In view of this, we all need to do some selfexamination and perhaps do some changes in our daily behavior.
