【正文】 表推測的用法 （ 1）肯定句中一般用 must（一定） ,may（可能） ,might/could（也許 ,戒許） ,其中 must表推測的語氣最強 ,其余依次減弱。 The book must be hers. Her name is on it. 這本書一定是她的。她的名字在上面。 He must be running. 他一定在跑步。 They may know the way to the library. 他們可能知道去圖書館的路。 （ 2）否定句中一般用 can’t/couldn’t （丌可能）。 That man can’t be Mr. Li, because he has gone to London. 那個人丌可能是李老師 ,因為他去倫敦了。 （ 3）疑問句中用 can/could（可能）。 —Can the red sweater be Tom’s? 這件紅毛衣會是湯姆的嗎 ? —No, it can’t. He can’t stand red. 丌 ,丌可能。他丌能忍受紅色。 【注意】 在表示委婉地提出請求、想法、建議等戒用亍疑問句及否定句表示驚訝、丌相信等時 ,might, could丌是 may, can的過去式。
