【正文】 in the current code GB50160 Codes for Design and Fire Protection of Petrochemical Enterprises and GBJ74 Code for Design of Petroleum Deposit. The storage tanks connected with relatively more pipelines or relatively large diameters of pipes should be arranged at the inlet and outlet of pipelines of the tank yard. The bottom elevations of tanks shall meet the following requirements: 1. To meet the requirements for the suction of pumps. 2. To meet the requirements for the installation dimensions of connections of branches in front of tanks with the min pipeline. Installation of Accessories Oil dip holes shall be provided nearby the ladder platform at the top of tank, and should be 500 ~ 1000mm away from tank wall. It is not allowed to install any other accessory in the space right below the oil dip hole to the tank base plate. Breather valves, fire arrestors (or the breather valves with fire arrestors) and vent tubes should be set up within the range of central top plate at the top of tank. Loopholes shall be provided at the top of tank and at the point of 800 ~ 1000mm away from tank wall, and they shall be corresponding to manholes and blowdown holes (or cleaning holes). The accessories on top of tanks contacting with corrosive media of acids, alkalis, etc. shall be arranged nearby platform. Steps shall be provided for the passage from the ladder platform at the top of tank to breather valve, vent tube and loophole. Manhole shall be provided in the positions for convenient access into tank, and keep away from the accessories inside tank. The center of manhole should be 750 mm higher than the tank bottom. Drain nozzle may be provided independently or provided in bination with the blowdown hole. Drain nozzle should be installed in the position closer to the inlet and outlet nozzles. Samplers at the bottom of tank should be installed in a position close to drain nozzle. One of the manholes of spherical tank shall be located at the top of tank and the other in a position convenient for access into tank at the bottom of tank body. Manhole on horizontal tank shall be located at the end of the main body. When two manholes are provided, they should be located respectively at both ends of the main body of tank. Gas vent nozzle shall be provided at the top of main body of tank. When manhole is provided at the top of tank, the vent nozzle may be located on the cover of the manhole. Pressure relief valve shall be located in the gas vent nozzle of main body of tank and shall be higher than the top of tank. 12 Ladder platform shall be located in the position to facilitate operation and maintenance. Installation of Instruments The horizontal distance between the installation position of instruments and inlet /outlet nozzles and the accessories inside tank shall not be smaller than 1000mm. Installation height of highlevel alarm shall meet the requirements that the maximum level shall not be exceeded within 10 ~ 15 minutes after the alarm is activated. Note: The max. level of tank refers to the level height of storage capacity that is calculated according to the specified loading capacity coefficient. The installation height of lowlevel alarm shall meet the requirement that the tank will not be evacuated by pump within 10 ~ 20 minutes after the alarm is activated. The requirements for installation of temperature gauges shall ply with the following provisions: gauges on the floating roof tanks and inner floating roof tanks should be installed in the positions at 700 ~ 1000mm above the bottom of tanks. Temperature gauges on the fixed roof tanks shall be installed in the positions at 700 ~ 1500mm. When there is heater inside tank, the upper limit should be taken, and the lower limit shall be taken when there is no heater. 2. The installation position of temperature gauges on spherical tank and horizontal tank shall ensure that the temperature of liquid phase can be measured at the minimum level and that it facilitates the observation and maintenance. The installation position of pressure gauges on the pressurized tanks shall ensure that the pressure of gas phase can be measure at the maximum level and that it facilitates the observation and maintenance. When it is necessary to install instruments or instrument elements on the top of tank, it is remended to arrange them nearby the ladder platform at the top of tank. Installation of Piping Pipelines should be laid on the ground. When the concrete anchors are used for laying pipelines, the height of the anchor top should not be lower than 300mm above the design ground level. The fixing point on the main pipeline should be located in the position close to the branch line in front of tank. Fire dam and partition embankment should not be used as the supporting point of pipelines. Steel conduits shall be provided for pipelines to perate the fire dam and partition embankment, and the lengths of conduits shall not be smaller than the thickness of fire dam and partition embankment and blocking treatment shall be made for permeating protection at the both ends of conduit. When tank is required to be purged with steam, the rotary steam spray with ND 20mm shall be provided, and the distance between the rotary steam spray and blowdown hole (or cleaning hole, manhole) should not be greater than 20m. Bridges across pipelines shall be provided in appropriate positions, and the distance form the lowest point of bottom part of bridge to the top of pipeline (or the top surface of insulation layer) shall not be smaller than 80mm. 13 Steel valve shall be used as the first valve on the inlet or outlet line which is closest to the tank wall.
