One of t he most handsome cars was a Roll s Royce Si lver Ghost . The m ost unusual car was a Benz which had only t hree wheels. Built i n 1885, i t was the oldest car taking par t. Af ter a great many loud explosions, t he race began. Many of the cars br oke down on the course and some dr i ver s spent more t ime unde r t hei r car s than in them ! A f ew car s, however, pleted t he race. The wi nning car reached a speed of f ort y mi les an hourmuch f ast er than any of i ts r ival s. I t sped downhi l at the end of the r ace and i ts dr iver had a lot of tr oubl e tr ying t o stop i t. The race gave ever yone a gr eat deal of pleasur e.
