At the same time the objective of this course is also to develop an ability of cultural awareness, munication and negotiation in international business. Starting from definition of culture, this course introduces contributions of various cultural ideas from scholars home and aboard it helps to develop a reasonable attitude towards culture while engaging in international business activities. Through paring the cultural models proposed by scholars, this course displays the cultural difference in various aspects on international business, such as dealers’ preference in specific features of the goods in negotiation, in price negotiation, manners of negotiation, formation of negotiating teams, formality of negotiation, requirement of contract and attitude towards time and so on. Similarly, this course presents several cases study from both developed and developing countries to illustrate 1) how ‘green trade’ ‘fair trade’ and bar of ‘sweat shops’ have impacts on China’s trade performance and solution to these。 2) how purchase and antipurchase by Chinese firms are involved with cultural factors and solution to these.
