Chinese Translation of the Bible (CUV)” written by Duan Taotao and Zhang Li, makes a parison of the Chinese translation to the Buddhist Scripture (Duan Taotao and Zhang Li 75). In 20xx, the article written by Wang Peng states that the development of Japanese Literature is under the influence of Christian and Bible. Also, a paper written by Li Xintao in 20xx, the writer of it shows that there is a strong link between the Bible and Bing Xin?s central assertion of “The philosophy of Love” (Li Xintao 70). It is because of the influence o Christian that Bing Xin could make her successful creation of literature based on love. B. Previous studies of the Chinese translation of proper noun There are also many studies about Chinese translation of proper noun since the 20th Century. And from the very beginning, it was Su Ning?s paper published on March 16th, in 1956. In His paper, 8 he pointed out some rules of translation of the foreign eponym and toponym. (Su Ning 3) And later, Zeng Shiying delivered a paper on Geography informing that there was an agreement to the Chinese translation of the foreign toponym. (Zeng Shiying 373) In the last century, the studies of this issue in 1960s mainly talked about the methods to translate the proper noun, and the representatives including Wang Chenchao, Xu Qing, Zhou Youguang, who were working for the paper Word Revolution, they mainly researched on how to spell the foreign proper noun into Chinese. During the 1980s, there had already been some successful studies on the translation, so in this decade, scholars were focus on the standard of the Chinese translation of the proper noun. In 1980, Wang Min conducted a research on the translation problems and the standard of toponym translation.(Wang Min, 52) In 1987, the paper “Name Translation Should Consolidate Teaching Notes” is written by Li Jiaxi, who also stressed the single standard of Chinese translation. (Li Jiaxi , 120) In 1990s, there were much more studies than before and most of them focused on the Chinese translation of proper noun based on some famous literature works. In 1991, Xie Shuna wrote a paper “A Dream of Red Mansions Homophonic Puns in the Proper Noun” to analyze the proper noun translation in the great book in China. And 9 there are also some researches on the technology or panies. In this decade, Chinese translation of proper noun had transferred its focus into other fields, not just stayed on the daily use or literature area. The following decades, the Chinese translation of the proper noun mainly focuses on different languages, not only foreign languages, but also in the national language in China. In 1997, the paper published on Kangding Journals, the writer of it presented the problems and reasons of the problems in translation between the Chinese and Zang language. He also provides some methods of dealing with the translation. (Ling Li and La Du 17) There are some papers make an analysis to the problems of the Chinese translation of the Manchu proper noun。在我寫論文的整個(gè)過程中,他的指點(diǎn)、建議與教導(dǎo)對我啟發(fā)很大。然而,通過考察圣經(jīng)(和合本)的漢譯本,發(fā)現(xiàn)圣經(jīng)中存在著不少的錯(cuò)譯和誤譯。 some begin to use translation theory to analyze the Chinese translation of proper noun. For example, a study makes an analysis to the Proper Noun in Bible based on Relevance Theory, according to the analysis, the author 10 found some translation problems in Bible based on Relevance Theory and provided some suggestions. (Jing Chunyan 209) All these studies have their own profound history, and shed a light on the later research. Chapter Ⅲ . Theoretical Foundation In this Chapter, the thesis makes an introduction to the Skopos Theory, both its history of development and the three rules of the theory. And in the end of this chapter, the thesis also deliberates the relevance of the Skopos Theory. A. An introduction to Skopos Theory Skopos Theory (German: Skopostheorie) is a conception springing from the field of translation studies. It is directly applicable to every translation for it contributes an insight into the essence of translation as a purposeful event. It is widely used to guide the translation of advertisement, spoken language, and subtitles of films. 1. The development of Skopos Theory The Skopos Theory was put forward by German linguist Hans Vermeer and includes the claim that translators should put these factors into consideration: what is the function of the translation text, what is the target reader? demand and even what is 11 municative situation. Therefore, what kind of translation skill should be chosen is decided by the purpose of the translation text to achieve a better function text. Katharina Reiss was the first one to officially refer the Skopos Theory in 1971。 最后,我要感謝我的父母及我的朋友對我的關(guān)愛與支持 。 Acknowledgements At the pletion of my thesis, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to this thesis.
