PTN Packet transmission Network (Packet Transport Network, PTN) not only keep the traditional SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarch, Synchronous Digital system) transmission Network advantages, but also increased the data to the nature of the business, such as Packet switching, multiplexing, using connectionoriented label switching, etc. These characteristics make PTN has the very strong transmit ability, can is applicable to different business needs, to bee the global hot topic. At present in the state PTN standardization, each manufacturer has launched the corresponding PTN equipment, each big operators also began to product testing, and even began to establish PTN work. For this, we follow the trend of The Times, this paper introduced prehensively PTN key technology system, application scenarios, work positioning and deployment strategy, and so on. Finally, based on the current situation of xining city uni work and mobile, broadband, big customers three business work load demand, analysis of xining uni intracity works are currently facing pressure, and then discusses PTN technology in xining local transmission work construction necessity and the construction of xining uni intracity works work scheme.
