In return, the Czar sent him a trop of hi s best sol di ers. So the Am ber Room became part of the Czar’s winter palace in St Petersburg. About four metres long, the room served as a smal reception hal for im portant vi stors. Later, Catherine Ⅱ had the Am ber Rom moved to a palace outsi de St Petersburg where she spent her summers.
