ng personnel have worked in the telemunications industry as employees, many have worked in a financials capacity and all have direct experience with either distribution applications or financial applications. Specific Oracle candidate profiles for participation in this project can be made available for Hongkong Tele review upon request. It is important to the success of the Business Support System project that Hongkong Tele assign a project manager with appropriate skill to assign and manage resources to fulfill tasks as outlined in the description of Phase 1 Logistics Year 20xx. The Hongkong Tele project manager will also be expected to assist with project workplan, resoursing resolution of issues regarding scope and schedule. Project Gantt Chart and Critical Path Project Teams (Oracle and HKT) Resource Estimate The project resources should be provided from both the user and the IT side. From the user side, we normally suggest to have a full time team leader for each major module (. Inventory). If resources are a constraint and the processes of the module is relatively simple, a parttime team leader could be adequate. We need to evaluate the situation during the project planning phase. The team leader should have indepth business knowledge of the current business process and have the delegated authority to make business decision about any future business processes, including the running of the Oracle Financial module. In addition to the team leader, key business representatives will be required to be involved on a part time basis. These key business representatives will be required to provide input to the decision process as required. To formalise new policies and procedures, to be involved with testing and acceptance of module functionality, customisations and interfaces, reconciliation of converted data. The business representatives will be required to provide a map from the codes and accounts used in the existing system and any third party interfaced system to the Oracle Financials System. On the technical side, ideally the DBA should have Oracle technical skills and experience. If not, practical experience of RDBMS is remended. It is preferred to have general experience in package implementation and support. Further technical resources should be provided to assist with developing interfaces from existing system to the Oracle Applications. It is important to have inhouse knowledge of the current business system operation and its architecture to be effective in data conversion and systems interfacing. Besides DBA, Oracle Developer20xx skills is required. For data conversion and interface, we assume HKT has inhouse expert in DBS legacy system. Detailed workdays estimate for Option 1 Phase 2 Fixed Price and Tamp。 provide access to fully functional legacy systems and nonOracle systems。B Accounts Receivable High Return Material Authorization information for Credit Memo creation within Damp。 Section 3 : Option 1 Phase 1 Implementation (Logistics) Summary Oracle has recognized the HONGKONG TELECOM requirement to meet Y20xx pliance within its Logistics Information System. Oracle therefore proposes an approach to provide that pliance and minimize operational change for day to day business operations. In Option 1 for implementation of a new Logistics system, legacy satellite systems will remain unchanged and to a minimum extent interfaced to the new Logistics System. This approach builds a foundation for further improvements using Oracle’s products and services and is a relatively safe way to meet short term goals and also satisfy long term strategic objectives with a cost effective program. Oracle also recognizes the plexity in building interfaces with a number of legacy systems, and remends HONGKONG TELECOM work with Oracle in creating these interfaces in a rapid time frame. Option 1 Phase 1 Logistics of the Business Support System will be positioned as the core element of Hongkong Tele’s integrated information system which will allow Logistics operational analysis and forecasting at both the management and operational level. The core of the Option 1 Phase 1 solution is the Oracle Distribution applications modules. These application software modules are “off the shelf” applications which support the business activities of Order Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning and Distribution. These applications have been built using standard Oracle Developer/20xx on Oracle RDBMS. Surrounding this core package will be a minimum set of custom extensions to support agreed upon functionality gaps not supported by the proposed applications. Initially these gaps will be carefully reviewed for Option 1 Phase 1 impact with a desire to minimize risk and realize a faster implementation. Custom extensions will be developed using Oracle Developer/20xx for consistency in the user interface. Scope A welldefined scope establishes the parameters and outes of the project. This section presents our current understanding of Hongkong Tele requirements to address the stated system needs. The scope of this proposal is based on the Request for Proposal information , interviews with the key users from the main business functions, and other correspondence on this subject . We have referred to the Hongkong Tele “Requested Scope And Strategy For Quotation From Suppliers” dated 3 October 1997, which is outlin
