This is the question that a new science fiction (科幻 ) programme, Alien Pla (《異形星球》 ), tries to answer. In the 94minute programme, two robots explore (探索 ) a fictional pla. The pla, Darwin IV, has two suns, and is smaller and hotter than Earth. It seems likely that Darwin IV was covered with large oceans a few million years ago, just like Earth. But because of climate (氣候 ) changes, the oceans disappeared. Darwin IV is also home to many alien plants and animals. The robots look at the land and air on the pla, and then send information to a team of scientists on Earth. The programme is based on the book Expedition by Wayne Barlowe. However, Alien Pla is not just normal science fiction, because it is based on real scientific information.
