EN 9432:2020 (E) 7 Safety footwear Where safety footwear is fitted it shall also meet the requirements of clause 7 of EN 3452:1996 (Type FPA). Where safety footwear is not permanently fitted to the chemical protective suit any external bootee supplied by the manufacturer shall ply with the requirements of clause 7 of EN 3452:1996 (Type FPA). An integral sock or bootee shall provide at least the same level of protection as the fabric from which the chemical protective suit is manufactured. Visor The visor shall meet the requirements of of prEN 9431:2020 as well as the requirements given below. When tested in accordance with the visor shall pass for each chemical listed in . This test shall only be carried out with those test chemicals for which the test according to has led to any indication of harm to the visibility. 6 Performance requirements for seams, joins and assemblages NOTE The requirements of this clause apply to the garment as a whole including ponent parts, such as gloves or boots, that are integral to the garment. The seams, joins and assemblages attaching these accessories are included within the scope of this European Standard. The performance criteria for the accessories (gloves, boots or RPE) are given in other European Standards. Resistance to permeation of closures by chemicals Closures or closure assemblies shall be tested in accordance with for each chemical listed in Table 2. The breakthrough time shall be at least 5 min for each chemical. The test cell according to EN 3743 has to be modified for testing of closures to ensure that the sample can be fitted tightly into the cell. If the closure or closure assembly fails to meet level 2 the closure or closure assembly shall be protected by a flap or cover to reduce the risk of liquid chemical contact. Resistance to permeation of seams by chemicals Seams shall be tested and classified in the same way as materials in accordance with , and the performance classification ratings shall be reported in the instruction for use of 8 d) of prEN 9431:2020 in the same way as for chemical protective clothing materials. If a seam or closure is rated only class 1 for a chemical listed in Table 2 the instructions for use shall indicate that the chemical protective suit is not suitable for use against this chemical under continuous exposure. Seam strength The seam strength of the chemical protective suit shall fulfil the requirements of class 5 of of prEN 9431:2020. Attachment points Where an attachment point for a lifeline is fitted it shall withstand a pull of not less than 1 000 N. The attachment point for other items of equipment shall withstand a pull of not less than 250 N. EN 9432:2020 (E) 8 Testing according to prEN 9431:2020, with a pull of 1 000 N or 250 N. 7 Performance requirements for the whole chemical protective suit General Chemical protective suits shall fulfil the following requirements when tested as a plete assembly. The outside of the chemical protective suit shall not have any pockets or features similar to pockets. Type 1aET: Chemical protective suits with a facemask according to of prEN 9431:2020 or a visor shall be used. To protect the chemical protective suit against mechanical damage from the pressed air breathing apparatus, a reinforcement shall be provided in the back part (hump). The chemical protective suit shall allow wearing of the pressed air breathing apparatus and a head protection if required inside. Type 1bET: Chemical protective suit with a builtin mask or joined mask according to of prEN 9431:2020 shall be used. Connection between exhalation valve (exhaust assembly) and chemical protective clothing material The connection between the exhalation valve(s) and the chemical protective suit shall withstand a pull of not less than 150 N. Testing according to of prEN 9431:2020. 8 Test methods Practical performance test For the test, persons shall be selected who are familiar with using such or similar equipment and whose medical history is known to be satisfactory. The subjects shall be medically examined and certified fit to undertake the test procedures. The necessity of a medical examination before, or supervi sion during the tests shall be at the Testing Officers discretion. Prior to testing the test devices shall be stored at room temperature of (20 177。C, relative humidity 60 % and the test temperature and humidity shall be recorded. The background noise shall not be greater than 75 dBA. EN 9432:2020 (E) 9 During this test the following activities shall be done in the simulation of the practical use of the chemical protective suit, the test shall be pleted within a total working time of 30 min. a) Walking on the level at a regular rate of 6 km/h for 5 min. b) Climbing up a ladder (total vertical distance 20 m). c) 10 strokes on a work machine, each stroke being vertical from 1,8 m towards the ground on a mass of 25 kg. d) Walking on the level with headroom of (1,3 177。C. The test temperature and the humidity shall be recorded. The test shall be pleted wi thin a total working time of 30 min. The following activities shall be done: a) Walking on the level at a regular rate of 6 km/h for 5 min. b) Crawling on a smooth surface on the level with headroom of (0,70 177。 d) clarity of vision from the facepiece and/or visor。 h) any other ments volunteered by the wearer. EN 9432:2020 (E) 10 Distortion of vision A test piece of vi sor material with the dimensions 200 mm x 200 mm shall be used (if the actual visor has dimension
