From 1990s, more and more attention has been paid to Active Power Factor Correction. The thesis analyzes the issue of electronic ballast’s power factor correction. It lays stress on discussing the necessary circuit configuration of the Highperformance electronic ballast system and the basic theory of Active Power Factor Correction. A power factor correction controller, MC34262 is introduced and it is an active high power factor electronic ballast. The thesis illustrates how the ballast circuit constructed, the main features of MC34262, the detailed circuit principle diagram and the main ponent selection.
