【正文】 火眼金睛：1.“假期”有多少？holiday、vacation、leave、off用法區(qū)別：這四個(gè)詞都有表示“假期”的意思，但具體含義有所不同。①holiday 名詞 n. 一般表示時(shí)間可長(zhǎng)可短的假期，為可數(shù)名詞。與季節(jié)連用時(shí)多用復(fù)數(shù)；與數(shù)詞連用時(shí)只表示次數(shù)，不表示日期。例如：We have had three holidays since the beginning of the year.（從年初以來(lái)，我們已經(jīng)休了三次假。）但三天的假期應(yīng)說(shuō)：a holiday of three days或a three days’ holiday。②vacation 名詞n. 一般表示比較長(zhǎng)的假期，多指大學(xué)的假期、法庭的休庭期。至于寒、暑假，英國(guó)人喜歡用：summer/winter holidays，美國(guó)人喜歡用：summer/winter vacation，區(qū)別不大。例如：We spent our summer holidays/vacation in the countryside this year.③leave 名詞n. 多指政府部門、機(jī)關(guān)、事業(yè)單位、部隊(duì)等的休假。常用的短語(yǔ)ask for leave for three days意思為：請(qǐng)三天假。例如：The worker asked for leave for two days to see a doctor.④off 副詞adv. 表示休假、不工作、不上班，多用于名詞后作定語(yǔ)，例如：The teacher will give me five days off.I requested two minutes off during the meeting.練習(xí)：用holiday/vacation/leave/off填空：1．Christmas is an important ___________ for everyone in the West.2．The students are now on ____________ in the south of China.3．We will spend our winter ____________ in a few days’ time.4．You had better ask the teacher for two days’ ___________ .5．The boss gave the worker two days ____________ .（Keys: ）2.“時(shí)間”不能亂！介詞in,on與at都可用于表示“時(shí)間”的名詞前，但用法各不相同，其區(qū)別在于：( 一)用in的場(chǎng)合 （1）表示“在某年/月/季節(jié)”這個(gè)含義時(shí)，須用介詞in。例如： She came to this city in 。（2）表示“從現(xiàn)在起一段時(shí)間以后”時(shí)，須用介詞in。例如： They will go to see you in a 。（3）表示“在某世紀(jì)”時(shí)，: Great changes took place in the twentieth century. 20世紀(jì)發(fā)生了巨大變化. （4）表示“在某年代或特定世紀(jì)某年代”時(shí)，須用介詞in。例如：160
