【正文】 在文勇的網(wǎng)站會(huì)定期更新黃金精選閱讀最新版本,歡迎熱心同學(xué)定期轉(zhuǎn)載新托福精選閱讀 真題[2010年1月10日 ]俺常常收到同學(xué)們的郵件，要我推薦各種各樣閱讀材料,問我iBT的復(fù)習(xí)資料中 Barron, Longman, Delta等等哪個(gè)更好。我其實(shí)很無(wú)奈因?yàn)楸M管這些機(jī)構(gòu)很大牌,但大牌絲毫都不意味著文章“質(zhì)量高”(比如你可以想想三鹿奶粉)說這些機(jī)構(gòu)的文章質(zhì)量不高,并不是說文字寫得不好,而是說這些文章的句子結(jié)構(gòu), 論述方式, 出題思路與ETS的并不一致(有時(shí)候甚至大相徑庭)：用這樣的材料訓(xùn)練，實(shí)在是 事倍功半。于是，我們實(shí)在應(yīng)該去找找由ETS出的iBT文章來(lái)做：（我們能夠找到的|由ETS編纂的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)iBT文章有）1. OG Official Guide 官方指南，由ETS提供的iBT考試指南；之中的13篇文章 Applied Arts and Fine Arts一文屬于ETS范例文章,故題目不全；；（其中3篇為第三版OG之中的文章）2. 13次（套）TPO TOEFL Practice Online: (由ETS提供的，)；之中的3*13=39篇文章 現(xiàn)在報(bào)名之后，贈(zèng)送的是一套Mini Test， 只有1篇文章13道題目；；3. 早期 大家都知道,我是一個(gè)溫和的人。報(bào)名之時(shí)ETS贈(zèng)送的3篇在線測(cè)試題4. ETS官方給出的?？架浖谐槌龅?篇文章； 于是這個(gè)文檔在我的一時(shí)興起之下，出現(xiàn)了：OG拿在手上，可以一個(gè)個(gè)字的敲成電子版；TPO的所有考試都是在自己的計(jì)算機(jī)進(jìn)行，于是可以一邊花錢參加考試,一邊截圖與錄像再利用截下來(lái)的圖片，逐個(gè)的敲下來(lái)；早期的ETS贈(zèng)送的3篇在線測(cè)試題，我也恰好有電子版本；官方的模考軟件稍微用點(diǎn)功夫，就能將文章提取并復(fù)制出來(lái)。雖然工作有些繁雜，但總算完成了所有文章的敲打工作。再花了些時(shí)間，把這53篇文章都做了答案，附在文章的后面。（由于TPO之中有3篇文章與OG中完全重復(fù),于是減去3篇,只剩下53篇。）同時(shí)我還更正了OG上幾個(gè)明顯的錯(cuò)誤（詳見文后附錄）當(dāng)然，我還做出了方便大家理解文章的參考譯文，附在文章的后面。在這53篇由ETS出的文章沒有做完之前，我們實(shí)在不應(yīng)該花時(shí)間在任何其他的題目之上。我有時(shí)候甚至?xí)?duì)著我的弟兄們高呼：“沒有把這53篇做３遍，你好意思上考場(chǎng)么？你好意思花錢在任何一本垃圾書上面么？”另外，如果你正在準(zhǔn)備iBTSATGRE的作文部分或者寫留學(xué)文書，也應(yīng)該仔細(xì)的琢磨一下這些文章：經(jīng)過ETS打磨的文章，無(wú)一不是精妙絕倫，極具模仿價(jià)值。常常有同學(xué)拜托我?guī)退ㄋ慞S，也說起自己的句子怎么看都像是小學(xué)生寫的（盡管用上了GRE里面的單詞），于是會(huì)隨口問我“勇哥，您的寫作能力是怎么訓(xùn)練出來(lái)的?！蔽艺f，“看唄，看唄：托福文章看多了，寫作能力自然就提高了?！薄斑@ETS的這些文章真的那么好？”。每當(dāng)聽到這個(gè)問題，我都會(huì)裝做趙本山的樣子來(lái)一句“誰(shuí)用誰(shuí)知道～～” 文勇IntroductionMany students sent me Email, asking me to remend some reading materials. Of assorted iBT preparing materials, Barron, Longman, Delta, etc, which is the best? As often as not, I feel at a loss: does brand equal to quality? These branded institutions are highly publicized, however, their passages and questions are not necessarily of quality. Does the brand “Sanlu” mean something to you? “QUALITY and safety are the foundations of social harmony,” proclaim posters at the headquarters of the Sanlu Group, until recently one of China’s biggest producers of milk powder. Now we all know that Sanlu Scandal has been more than an embarrassment. To say that these “branded” passages are not of quality does not mean they are not stylish, elegant or carefullywritten。 in fact, I discovered that the passage types, sentence patterns, arguing methods, and arrangement of questions are not quite consistent with, and sometimes even wildly divergent from those of ETS. I reflect that practicing with these materials cannot expect a satisfactory result. At this, we should collect ETS’s original passages and questions. Such passages available include:1. 13 passages in Official Guide (OG)。2. 13 sets from TPO, with 3 passages included in each set, 39 passages in total。3. 3 passages provided by ETS to the applicants for a test on line in the early time of iBT,4. 1 passages extracted from the simulated exam software provided by ETS。(3 passages in TPO are abstracted from OG, so they are exactly the same) Then, I cannot resist the temptation to make such a text: I typed every letter of the 13 passages in OG into puter。 I paid dollars for the TPO and pleted it myself, filming the screen and capturing every page. Then I typed all the passages with the help of videos and captured pictures. The 3 passages in the online test happened to be available to me。 and as for the one passage in the simulated exam, though with a little difficulty, I nevertheless succeeded make an electronic text of it. Of course, I finished all these questions and attached the answer to end of this text. Eventually, the final “deluxe” edition of this text, including 53 passages in aggregate (3 passages in TPO are abstracted from OG, so they are exactly the same. Then taking 3 from 56 leaves 53 passages at last. ) I insist that before carefully finished and studied these 53 passages, we should not let ourselves distracted by any other materials. Sometimes, I yelled to my students, only a joke, “If you had not studied these passages and questions 3 times at least, how could you be barefaced enough to sit in the exam room? Shame on you to waste your mother’s money buying other costly books!” In addition, have you got ants in your pants every time you make a stab at writing? Do you go berserk for your personal statement? If you are preparing for the iBT, SAT, GRE, etc, writing, essays, or your personal statement, these passages can also be of help: polished by ETS, words, sentence, and structures of these passages are “epic…”, and worth imitating for nonenative English users. Frequently, friends asked me to help with their personal statement, plaining why what they had written looked so na239。ve, immature and awkward, even littered with those “glorious noble” GRE words (Actually, these words made their personal statement even freak!). And they asked, “Wenyong, my brother, how you forged your impressive writing skills?” I said, “Read! Read! And read again!
