The basic Design course structure is beneficial to every student, irrespective of his or her major. Anyone taking the basic course is treated as a future designer. To achieve this, Basic Design attempts to cultivate within the student: 1. The Ability to Discover and Solve Problems Projects are developed so one not only finds solutions, but also creates one’s own design problems, and continually reevaluates one’s progress toward achieving a satisfying resolution to the problem.
