【正文】 . Recently, The foreign researches about Hemingway were deeper than the past years, because the Boston Kennedy library let Hemmingway’s manuscripts and letters open to the public. Since this, Academia had discussed a lot about some differences and misunderstandings about some opus of Hemingway. But what amazed us was during these discussions there are very little about one of the most important opus of Hemingway— The old man and the sea. So, that is one important reason of the creation of this paper. 二 、 literature review Making a general survey of the researches of The old man and the sea, we may found that almost no one thought the old man’s tough guy image or patterns are not worth praised. Just like Roger Asselineau said :“ This novel, is absolutely a carols for the old man’s fighting spirits. The old man cans still fighting even if one man has nothing left.
