【正文】 e bus stop? / Excuse me, please, but I’m trying to find a post office. Is it far to walk? / Is the station far from here? / Will it take me long to get there? / How soon shall I get there? 周圍的同學問他“ What’s up”,經(jīng)追問后得知是“ How are you doing”之意。 How are you? What’s cooking?”這位小姐卻回答:“ No, I am not cooking. My mom is cooking.” I. Greetings: 見面時打招呼,我們最習慣的是下面幾種: How do you do?(初次見面時用) Glad to meet you! / Nice to see you! / Hi! / Hello! / Good morning! / Good afternoon! / Good evening! / Good day! How are you? / How are you getting on with you work? / How are you doing? / Are you well? / How is everything? / What are you doing these days? / How are things with you?/ Anything new? / How goes it with you? 其實,“ What’s cooking?” 旁邊的同學問他:“ What’s eating you?”他還沒弄明白,就回答:“ I am just eating some potato chips.” 原來“ What is up”(頭頂上是什么)與“ What’s up”有著天壤之別。 Go straight on. / Cross the square and turn left. / East street is the first turning on the left. Follow this path back for about a mile and you can’t miss it. / Go down the first turning on the left until you e to a tall building. / Go straight along this street to the traffic lights. / Go this way about ten minutes. When you see a motorcar advertisement, turn left. / I think it is opposite the post office. / I’m afraid you’re going in the opposite direction. / I’m going there myself. Let me lead you the way. / It’s about ten minutes’ walk. / It’s just rou
