of our lifeEmployment Pressure Facing College Students [1]About a decade ago, university students could find satisfactory and enviable jobs after their graduation. [1]But now, things are different. Today’s university students usually experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. They often plain that graduation means joblessness. [2]What is the cause of this phenomenon? [3]Firstly, with the enrollment extension of universities, [4]the supply of university graduates exceeds social demand. This results in a decreased chance for any individual graduate to find a job. [3]Secondly, university students [5]tend to spend most of their time at school in studying academic subjects and lack relevant job experience. [3]Thirdly, some students don’t study hard during the college. After four years of university life, they haven’t gained the knowledge those fairly good jobs or positions require. [6]Facing the increasingly fierce petition, we university students should try our bests to change this situation. [3]Above all, when in school, we should make the most of our time and [7]put our heart into our studies. [3]What’s more, we can take parttime jobs and attend social activities in our spare time to [8]accumulate relevant practical experience. [3]Besides, when we apply for jobs after graduation, we should [9]attach more importance to accumulating experience than to the starting salary.Clothes Do Not Make the Man We are familiar with an old saying that “Clothes make the man,” which means goodlooking outfits may possibly make a person better liked. Many people judge others by the way they dress. For these people, what one wears is taken as an essential signal of status and an expression of characteristics. Consequently, clothes do help make a good impression on others. But I have a different view on this issue. I think the good impression one leaves on others based on clothes doesn’t last long. Clothes just make a man look better, but will in no sense make him a better the contrary, when people who are fascinated by a person’s clothes eventually find out that he/she is an undesirable person, they would think he/she is pretentious and may even treat him/her with contempt . On top of this, people who attach too much importance to clothes would waste their time and money on it: Besides, it adversely affects their effort on the things that really matter. In summary, clothes do help in making an initial image, but do not make the man. One’s internal beauty and knowledge are more decisive of a person’s value.Drunken Driving Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that drunken driving has been a grave problem with which we are confronted. Generally speaking, there are several reasons accounting for /behind this phenomenon. Firstly, recent decades have witnessed the rapid development of people’s living standards. As a result, cars gained everincreasing popularity and have found their way into our everyday life. Secondly, people participate in more activities or banquets than ever before, where they will drink liquor/strong wine. Then, they may get drunk but continue to drive. Drunken driving is bound to generate severe consequence if we keep turning a blind eye to it. Firs and foremost, this behavior will directly threaten the safety of drivers, passengers
