【正文】 said good morning to him in French. 我用法語向他問早上好?！ repeated my question several times and at last he understood. 我把問話重復了很多遍?！ ot only…but…as well這組連接詞與 not only…but also是同樣的意思，都表示“不但……而且……”，not only與 but后面的成分必須對等?！ ?.… he spoke neither slowly nor clearly.……他講得既不慢也不清楚?！ e speaks like a foreigner. 他說話像外國人?！ ≌n文中這句話可以直譯為：他們總是告訴你某一幅畫是“關(guān)于”什么的，也就是一幅畫的“意思”是什么。(即只不過是撥錯了號碼) It’s just six o’clock. 正好6點?！ ?think that young children often appreciate modern pictures better than anyone else. 我覺得小孩子們往往比任何人都更能欣賞現(xiàn)代繪畫?！ ∵B接詞 whether…or not可以表示選擇： I don’t know whether you are interested (in it) or not. 我不知道你(對它)是否感興趣?！ 痵 all right. 還可以吧?！ n the middle of表示“在……當中”、“在……中間”，既可以用于表示地理位置，又可以用于表示時間或在某個過程當中： He heard someone shouting in the middle of the night. 午夜前后，他聽到有人大聲叫喊?！ pen fire指無遮蓋的、沒有圍起來的火，如篝火、盆火等?！ ?some time later it began to ，天下起雨來?！ he river winds its way through this district. 這條河彎彎曲曲地流經(jīng)這個地區(qū)。
