The topic of my speech today is “earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, cherish life”. May 12, 20XX earthquake, an instant, landslides, homes damaged, life disappeared. Familiar and warm homes are torn into mountain like ruins, innocent smile is taken away, flower like childhood, fresh life is separated from death by that moment, and many dreams are ruthlessly destroyed and buried. In 20XX, May 12 every year is set as the national “earthquake prevention and disaster reduction day”“ The establishment of “earthquake prevention and disaster reduction day” is not only to memorate the people who died after the Wenchuan earthquake, but also to remind us that we should never forget the past and learn from the future, enhance the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction of the whole society, popularize the knowledge of disaster prevention and reduction and the skills of disaster avoidance and selfhelp, and minimize the loss of natural disasters.
