(This is regarded as a sign of perseverance.) Let us know if you’ve worked to support yourself through school, citing the average number of hours you worked per week. UCB 對(duì) Statement of Purpose 的要求: The statement of purpose is one of the most important parts of the application process. It is from this essay that the admissions mittee will discern the seriousness of your intentions, your experience, and your motivation for graduate school. Think of the statement of purpose as a position with three different parts. i. The first part is a brief paragraph stating the program you want to study and your research focus. ii. The second part should be a summary of your college experiences. Briefly describe what brought about your interest in graduate study. Describe any research experience, clarifying your responsibilities, experimental results, and if you presented the findings at a conference or published them in a journal. You may be as specific as possible, as it is professors in your discipline who are reading this statement. iii. The third and most important part of the essay discusses why you want to go to graduate school, what you wish to study (research), and ideally, whom you would like to work with. Perhaps you wish to address an issue or topic that hasn’t been done before, or expand an undergraduate research project. Professors are looking for students with scholarly potential. Departments seek students who have intellectual passion and serious intention about graduate study. 3) 特別聲明 每個(gè)學(xué)校對(duì)待個(gè)人陳述的稱謂不同,內(nèi)容要求也不同。 如果我們用的是基本上是一個(gè)模版,記得改動(dòng)學(xué)校信息等敏感句子,不要張冠李戴,否則會(huì)直接被扔進(jìn)垃圾箱。 ME 的不要找化院的寫。有些學(xué)校讓推薦人直接 type 或 copy文字到文本框中,這樣就不需要署名了。 c) 推薦信的制作人 : pdf文檔會(huì)記錄 制作人,如果學(xué)生用自己的電腦寫的,而自己的電腦名稱恰好是自己的名字從而被他們發(fā)現(xiàn),可信度會(huì)降低。 大陸以外的教授一般都會(huì)自己寫推薦信,自己提交,學(xué)生不需要管任何事情,只要在deadline 之前提醒教授完成網(wǎng)推就行了。然后她會(huì)擇機(jī)送到教務(wù)處,大約一周以后我們就可以去教務(wù)處領(lǐng)了 。 飛躍第三步:填表,寄送材料和 GT 現(xiàn)在每個(gè)學(xué)校都有網(wǎng)申,部分學(xué)校網(wǎng)申已經(jīng)完全代替了紙申,申請(qǐng)者不用寄送任何材料就可以 完成申請(qǐng)流程,所有材料上傳。 每項(xiàng)作為一頁(yè),填寫完可以保存,也可以返回修改。 3. 網(wǎng)申結(jié)束 網(wǎng)申結(jié)束后,就可以寄送紙質(zhì)版的成績(jī)了(如果學(xué)校要求的話)。 DHL 東區(qū)周一到周五上班,幾乎一中午 +一下午都在;西區(qū)周二到周五上班,只有中午在。寄送時(shí)間一般 34 天,研究生院會(huì)需要一段時(shí)間處理,更新申請(qǐng)者的材料狀態(tài)。 飛躍第 四 步:陶瓷與面試 1. 陶瓷: 陶瓷本意為套磁,是為了與教授建立聯(lián)系讓教授感受到我們的才能和誠(chéng)意的一種手段,陶瓷就和美女搭訕一樣,向她展示美好的一面,讓她覺(jué)得你人不錯(cuò),又積極 。 學(xué)術(shù)陶瓷一般是以教授的科研論文成果為入口,找到共同話題。 2) 陶瓷的時(shí)期: 陶瓷有早有晚,一說(shuō) 10 月前就應(yīng)該陶瓷,此時(shí)教授的郵件還不會(huì)太多,有更大的可能性給我們回復(fù)。 直接發(fā)信問(wèn)教授是不是有招生計(jì)劃,教授一般不會(huì)回復(fù),所以仍然要使用學(xué)術(shù)陶瓷。申請(qǐng)完仍然可以陶瓷,說(shuō)一下我們已經(jīng)申請(qǐng)了他,并且在 sop 里提到了對(duì)他的興趣。 iii. 相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的基礎(chǔ),發(fā)現(xiàn)問(wèn)題的能力。 Instrumentation in University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
