However, things go tough as translators work on the lexical level of CE economy news translation, because of huge difference between lexical and rhetorical exertion in Chinese and English. Actually, lexeme is the very element that counts in economy news CE translation, which affects target readers’ understanding to the information bear in news. Here in the following passages the analyses will be made on the right translation methods that are applicable in economy news CE translation on the lexical level. Theory applied in economy news translation According to Newmark’s classification about text function, there are six types of text function, including expressive function, informative function, and vocative function, aesthetic function, phatic function, and metalingual function. Journalism, reporting, scientific and technical papers, and most non literary works can be assigned to the informative function (Newmark, 2003). Therefore, economy news in newspaper has informative function, as it falls into the category of journalism. Newmark had also stated that there are two major methods that are applicable to the translation of different sorts of texts, that is municative translation and semantic translation. Communicative translation intended to produce its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained by the readers of the original text, whereas the semantic translation concentrates on the exact contextual meaning of the source text, including its words and syntactic structure (Newmark, 2003) Translation methodsEconomy news is informative text. The function of it is to provide readers with factual information. So the priority of the translators’ work is to transfer the message faithfully and produce the same effect in the target language as was produced in the original. Some translation methods ,thus, must be applied in this process. translation methodIn accordance with Newmark’s translation theory applied for informative text, municative translation should be used in the CE economy news translation.As the transitivity on the discourse and syntactic level can be reached without hardship, municative translation method for appropriate transitivity in CE economy news translation will be discussed on lexical level only. Applied in elegant words translation Some words and expressions which might add much elegance to the Chinese news will be replaced by plainer words or just nowhere in the translation. For example,也許在不遠的將來，中國將誕生許多長安俱樂部這樣的“”,又因為日益壯大的中國精英群體的 “欲望車” 已駛進中國.With the increasing number of so many bright, mobile and successful business people in China, clubs like the Chang An Club will inevitably multiply in the near future. “日益壯大” is a sensational expression in Chinese to express the concept of rapid increase so we use “the increasing number of” instead of “increasing widely by every passing day”. “欲望車” another rhetorical expression to suggest the largeness of the group, is not explicitly rendered into English for its meaning has been contained in other words while “the desire van” will confuse readers. Applied in highsounding words translation EEN generally uses more facts and data while Chinese one is used to applying the highsounding display. Therefore, we should lower our tone to state the plain fact in a more objective language from Chinese to English. The explanation of the word “屹立” in 現(xiàn)代漢語詞典(2005) is as follows“to stand towering and firmly like a mountain. Usually used as an analogy to describe firm and unshakable things/ people”. There is no corresponding word or conventional saying in English for it. So the translator has rendered it as “stand like a giant”, which has described the magnificent sight of the plex lively. Although the metaphor in the original is replaced by simile in the target text, the second reader still can imagine the grand sight the author tried to describe and can get the exact message the author tried to convey to his readers. In the above cases, the municative translation method served well during the CE economy news translation. Drawback of Communicative TranslationEven though Newmark has suggested that municative translation method should be adopted for the translation of informative texts, including economy news, but he has also assumed that through municative translation one can modify, correct, improve or simplify the original to produce a translation even better than the one in the original text. Consequently, some messages contained in the original text will be lost during the process of translation. The loss of information discussed here is the missing of factual information. Nevertheless, the purpose of economy news translation is to transfer the message of an original text as accurately and pletely as possible. Thus, when rendering such news, first of all, translators have to secure the accuracy and adequacy of translation. Just as Newmark proposed: “One of the many problems of municative translation is to decide to what extent one should simplify and therefore emphasize the basic message” (Newmark, 2003: 62). If the translation is oversimplified, the reader can only receive parts of the whole message, which will make him or her either confused or understand the text wrongly.
